Who We Are

Statesboro AMBUCS is part of a national nonprofit inspiring mobility and independence. Our local chapter brings that mission to life through Amtrykes, scholarships, and community service.

What is AMBUCS?

Founded in 1922, National AMBUCS empowers mobility and independence through more than 150 chapters across the U.S. Statesboro AMBUCS proudly carries this mission forward in our community.

Our Chapter in Statesboro

We are business leaders, parents, professionals, and neighbors united by one goal: giving the gift of mobility. Since 2013, Statesboro AMBUCS has grown to more than 25 members and has provided over 70 Amtrykes through local fundraising efforts. While we operated under the wing of Savannah AMBUCS for many years, we officially chartered our own local chapter in January of 2024.

  • A playground with artificial grass features a large canopy, ramps, a maroon slide, blue climbing equipment, swings, and a merry-go-round. Surrounded by trees and a residential area in the background.
  • Three young men help a smiling child with curly red hair ride a small bike down a ramp indoors, with red neon lights in the background.
  • Four people stand on a stage, two in firefighter uniforms and two women in red shirts and jeans. The women hold a framed sign with text. Lit marquee letters and stage lights glow behind them. They are smiling and posing for a photo.
  • Two people dressed in western attire, including cowboy hats and boots, face each other and touch hands while smiling, as if dancing or performing on stage with glowing lights in the background.
  • Several smiling people sit in an audience, with a woman in the center holding up a smartphone to take a photo or video. The lighting is dim, creating a warm, lively atmosphere.
  • A child wearing a large pink bow headpiece, gray sweatshirt, beige jogger pants, and sneakers walks alone on a dimly lit stage.
